Production Process of PET Release Film

The production process of our PET release film follows standard professional procedures with imported Dow Corning silicone oil, and the detailed of our manufacturing steps are as follows:

Raw Film Inspection

Firstly, inspect the purchased original PET base film strictly. We conduct comprehensive quality checks on the film’s thickness, flatness, surface cleanliness and tension stability to ensure the raw material meets production standards and eliminate defective base films.

Surface Coating with Imported Silicone Oil

After passing the inspection, the qualified PET base film is sent to the coating machine. We adopt high-quality imported Dow Corning silicone oil as the release coating material, and uniformly coat the silicone oil on the single side of the PET base film through precise coating equipment to form an even release layer.

High-temperature Drying and Curing

The coated film is conveyed to the constant-temperature drying oven. Through scientific high-temperature baking, the silicone oil layer is fully dried and cross-linked and cured. This process removes residual solvent, ensures tight bonding of the silicone coating, and achieves stable and clean release performance.

Finishing and Winding

After complete drying and cooling, the finished release film is automatically wound into standard roll materials. Finally, we conduct random quality inspection on the finished products to guarantee stable overall film quality.

What is release film used for?

Release film serves as a non-stick carrier and protective liner. It is widely applied in heat transfer printing, adhesive product processing, electronic component manufacturing, die cutting, plastic surface decoration and label printing. It separates ink, glue and coated layers smoothly without residual contamination.

What thickness is best for heat transfer printing?

Plastic bucket & container transfer: 30μm, 50μm

Regular garment DTF printing: 75μm

High-speed heavy-duty transfer: 100μm

 

50μm and 75μm are the most universal and cost-effective choices for mainstream heat transfer jobs.

 

Can release film be customized?

Is your film suitable for gravure printing?
